The New Zealand School of Dance (NZSD) is set to showcase its progressive vision for the performing arts with an innovative Performance Season from November 19-29, 2025, at Te Whaea: National Dance & Drama Centre, demonstrating Wellington's growing reputation as a creative hub for digital and performing arts.
Celebrating Diversity and Cultural Evolution
This groundbreaking season represents a powerful fusion of traditional excellence and contemporary innovation, featuring works created by NZSD graduates who have gone on to achieve international acclaim. Much like other cultural events driving New Zealand's creative economy, the performance season promises to showcase the nation's artistic diversity.
Program Highlights
- Classical performances featuring works from August Bournonville and Christopher Hampson CBE
- Contemporary premieres by acclaimed alumni including Raewyn Hill and Tristan Carter
- Five performances each of classical ballet and contemporary dance
"These two distinct and exciting programmes give our exceptionally talented students ample opportunity to continue developing artistically, as they strive to launch professional careers," says NZSD Director Garry Trinder.

Performances will be held at Te Whaea: National Dance & Drama Centre from November 19-29, 2025. Tickets range from $20 to $47.50 and can be purchased through nzschoolofdance.ac.nz.
